Adam Cohen began his technology career with Bell Atlantic, where he specialized in hardware, networking, and server operating systems. His experience at Bell Atlantic gave him a broad understanding of IT operational strategies and enterprise computing. In 2000, Adam left Bell Atlantic to take a job as JetBlue Airways' first software developer. One of the main objectives of the airline was to replace millions of dollars of wasted paper with the world's first electronic flight bag. Within six months of his hire date, Adam developed the system to completion, and helped convince the FAA to approve its use on commercial aircraft.
Adam remained at JetBlue for three years, during which time he led the development of over 30 applications such as JetBlue.com, TrueBlue Flight Gratitude Program, and Cargo Tracking Systems. During Adam’s final year with the airline JetBlue was awarded the prestigious CIO 100 Award which is considered a “mark of enterprise excellence.” By the time Adam left JetBlue, he had been promoted three times, eventually becoming JetBlue's Manager of Development and Chief Developer.
In 2004, Adam parlayed his education and experience and co-founded GotCoders, a revolutionary software consultancy that brings strategic and technological knowhow to its clients most important strategic challenges. GotCoders delivers technical innovation with the expectation of reduced risk, acceleration to market and increased return on investment.
Over the course of the past five years, Adam has led the development of thirty plus software applications in seven different verticals for organizations ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies; during this time Adam has gained extensive experience developing business processes, policies and procedures that have enabled large (100+ resource), geographically distributed teams to efficiently deliver IT solutions. He currently consults in a CIO/CTO capacity for a number of organizations, helping them to increase efficiency, develop competitive advantage and define technology roadmaps.
During the past three years, Adam has also established a niche specialization within the startup market. He has positioned GotCoders as a startup incubator by staffing it with thought-leaders, managers, and engineers complemented by a staffing program designed to position new ventures for sustainable success. With Adam’s strategic direction and leadership, GotCoders has recently taken several web startups, including Unigo.com – the most comprehensive college resource available, and Earthtone.net – the largest global print distribution network, from business plan through to commercialization.
